The Real Mission for NASA: Destination Mankind
July 21, 2010 -- Forty one years ago this week, we realized the vision, and mission, of President John F. Kennedy, to send a man to the moon and return him safely to Earth. Of this victory, Space Pioneer Krafft Ehricke, in his address on the 5th anniversary of Apollo 11, made the crucial point, "The goal of Apollo -destination Moon- was reached successfully. Another in the 3 billion years long series of so-called limits had been overcome. But the goal of Man's space capability is not destination Moon or Mars. It is destination mankind."
President Kennedy articulated the mission for Destination Mankind clearly, in his speech at Rice University, on Sept. 12, 1962, declaring, "We set sail on this new sea because there is new knowledge to be gained, and new rights to be won, and they must be won and used for the progress of all people." He understood this has been our uniquely American mission, reaching all the way back to the 1630 Massachusetts Bay Colony, and the founding of our republic.
More and more, Americans are realizing, Obama was put in power by his British imperial masters to destroy this mission, which he is doing in every action he takes, including destroying NASA.
As I made clear in my recent challenge to incumbent Pete Olson, the posturing and lies must stop now! There is no possibility of saving NASA, even if Congress "reauthorizes" funding for Constellation, and the Ares I rocket, unless President Obama is removed from office immediately, and our bankrupt economy is reorganized according to Glass-Steagall principles. As Obama has already made clear, he is perfectly willing to overrule Congress by Executive fiat, and cut all funding that interferes with his endless wars and endless bank bailouts. This policy has reached its utter breaking point, and we’re now facing the threat of global hyperinflation, and a new dark age.
My campaign has not only led the charge in the fight to save NASA, but has continued to chart a course for Destination Mankind: we must colonize the Moon and Mars, over the next 2-3 generations, as a means by which we unleash a true renaissance for mankind.
Join with me now, to make this mission, once again, a reality. There is no time to lose; future generations are depending on us to act courageously, and decisively. Obama must go now!
